No provider network

With ahm, you don't need to choose from a 'limited network' of providers. Plus, you’ll get the same benefit at most recognised providers, so you don’t have to switch from your physio or chiro just because you’ve switched health funds!

No-gap dental

With extras cover on eligible products, you could get up to 2 dental check-ups per financial year with no out-of-pocket costs at selected dentists, subject to annual limits and excluding specialists. Find out more

Depending on what level of extras cover you choose, some of our inclusions don’t have any waiting periods, which means we can start helping with the bill right away. For example, if our Lifestyle Extras cover suited your needs and you wanted to sign up, you wouldn’t have any waiting periods for routine dental, optical, physio, chiro, osteo, remedial massage, or psychology and counselling. Win.

Three different categories of Extras products

1. Percentage back (Black 50, 60, 70)

Refers to % of a provider charge you can claim (up to your limits). Easy maths! This might be best if you tend to visit your health provider a few times per year and want a bit more back each time (depending on the percentage back).

2. Set benefit back

You'll get a specific dollar amount back for your included services (up to your limits). This might be best if you need to claim straight away for certain services, as these extras products have no 2 & 6 month waiting periods.* This might be better for you if you tend to visit your health provider regularly over a longer period.

*12 month and 2 year waiting periods still apply for some services on these products. See product guides for more information.

3. Flexi limit

The most flexible, as the name suggests. Gives you greater choice and control over what you can claim for, with one total dollar amount to use across included extras you value the most. Available if you have packaged extras and hospital cover. More about flexi limits

100% back on optical

Need some fresh specs? With eligible ahm extras cover, you’ll get 100% back on included optical services (up to your annual limits) on the cost of things like frames, repairs, prescription lenses and contacts. Waiting periods apply.

Claim on useful stuff

Depending on your ahm extras cover, you can also claim on useful stuff like Cancer Council UV products, custom made mouthguards, stress management courses and orthotics and orthopaedic footwear.
