A quick guide to GapOnly® pet insurance claims

Vet bills can catch you by surprise - much like your pet’s unexpected antics. GapOnly® works with eligible claims at participating vets. You pay the gap (the difference between the vet’s invoice and your eligible claim benefit) and off you go, which means that you can focus more on your furry friend.
So, what is GapOnly® all about?
Instead of paying the full amount upfront and then waiting to be reimbursed, GapOnly® allows you to claim on the spot, so you only pay the gap (the difference between the vet’s invoice and your eligible claim benefit) instead of the full bill upfront.
What isn’t included?
That said, any exclusions on your Petinsurance.com.au policy will still apply, whether or not you’re using GapOnly® to claim. Petinsurance.com.au policies don’t cover items such as:
- Pre-existing conditions
- Breeding and obstetrics
- Grooming

How does GapOnly®** work with pet insurance?
If your vet offers GapOnly®, here’s the quick run-down:
- When you and your furry friend visit the vet, just let your vet know you want to use GapOnly®.
- Your vet will submit the claim on your behalf while you’re still in the clinic.
- The claim is usually assessed within about 5 minutes.
- Where eligible, you then just pay the difference between the total bill and what’s covered by the policy.
With GapOnly®, you focus more on the important stuff, like belly rubs.

Does your vet offer GapOnly®?
Not all vet clinics are set up to offer GapOnly®, so it’s worth checking before you visit. If you’re not sure, simply ask your vet whether they participate in the program - they’ll be happy to let you know.
